Touring, Old-School
In the '70s and '80s this constituted the widest gear spread available. Suntour had that hard-to-find 38 tooth big cog for its Winner Pro series of rear clusters. They also had one of very few rear derailleurs that could handle the tension and the chain slack. There was also the Huret Duopar and perhaps some others which are no longer in business. The 54 up front was a Sugino on a 110BCD five-arm crank. The sixteen was from a Mavic rear cogset threaded on a Mountain Tamer Quad which bolted on in place of the 74mm inner chainwheel's spacers.
